Boy killed, 10 hurt as bus rams stationary lorry

A 14-year-old boy died while ten others passengers were injured in a road accident as a speeding bus hit a stationary lorry at Panugundla Crossroad on NH-65 under Kattangur police station limits here on Tuesday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Vadlamudi Nagendrababu, 14, native of Seethapalmandi. He was accompanied by his mother Varalakshmi, who also suffered grievous injuries, and father Govinda Rao.

The Hyderabad-bound bus belongs to Eluru depot.

Kattangur Sub-Inspector of Police Vijaya Prakash said 10 other passengers too sustained injuries in the incident. The condition of one of them is stated to be very critical, whom the police shifted to a hospital in Hyderabad. A case has been registered.
