Body of 6-month-old boy exhumed

The body of a six-month-old baby boy was exhumed by a team of doctors from Gandhi Hospital at Narsapur in Medak district on Wednesday, who died of starvation as his mother was not allowed to feed him by a labour contractor.

The death of the boy at EMMENNAR Pharma at Turkalakhanapur in Hatnoora mandal was reported in these columns. After his burial, his family members, including his mother G. Malleswari, was sent to their native place.

She lodged a complaint with the police on Tuesday alleging that her employer did not allow her to feed her son leading to his death due to starvation. Based on her complaint, the police called the forensic team from Hyderabad.

The doctors, led by Dr. Vanisri, collected the required samples from the body which was highly decomposed. A report would likely be submitted in a week.

Toopran DSP Venkateswarlu, Circle Inspector A. Ram Reddy and others were present.
