BJP demands NIA probe into Nalgonda encounter

Telangana BJP president G. Kishan Reddy, on Sunday, demanded a probe by National Investigation Agency (NIA) into the encounter in which two suspected Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) under-trials were killed in Nalgonda district.

Addressing media persons, he said NIA should be involved in view of the news reports that the under-trials had links with Pakistan’s ISI and that they had also committed crimes in other States. The two SIMI under-trials were suspected to have shot at policemen, killing a constable and injuring a sub-inspector and an inspector at Suryapet in Nalgonda district on Thursday.

He said there was need to find out aspects like who gave them shelter after the attack on policemen. He also demanded the State Government to provide modern weapons to policemen.
