Better rice to be served to prisoners

July 30, 2014 12:46 am | Updated 12:46 am IST - HYDERABAD:

Telangana Home Minister Nayani Narsimha Reddy on Monday directed officials of Cherlapally Central Prison to serve better rice to prisoners.

During a visit to the prison along with Director General of Prisons and Correctional Services, V.K. Singh, the Minister expressed dissatisfaction over the quality of rice being given to prisoners. He assured to immediately fill four doctors posts in the prison’s hospital.

Responding to officials’ submission that prisoners can produce better goods in the prison’s factories if new machinery was allotted, Mr. Reddy said he would try to secure Rs.10 crore from the government for it.
