‘Better coordination needed between Centre and State’

December 04, 2014 11:22 am | Updated April 07, 2016 02:40 am IST - HYDERABAD:

BJP national general secretary P. Muralidhar Rao has observed that the Telangana State government needs to adopt a more proactive approach for better Centre-State relations.

Answering a question at the press meet organised here on Wednesday, Mr. Rao said the Central government was observing restraint and had an amicable attitude towards the State government despite the latter’s aggressive approach. He hoped for better coordination between the Central and State governments, so that the State could benefit from various Central government schemes.

Mr. Rao listed seven States – Assam, West Bengal, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Telangana where he said the party had ample scope for growth. He added that special programmes would be taken up to develop leadership at all levels.

He lauded the NDA government’s six-month rule and said it had been successful in controlling inflation, improving growth rate, international relations, bringing the issue of black money to the world’s notice, and industrialisation, among others.
