Over 60 underprivileged girls of Balasadan got a rare gift from Judge G. Neelima on Ugadi. They were all taken to film while another philanthropist and veteran doctor Parcha Anjani Devi promised to conduct free medical camps for them.
The Sulakhya Seva Samithi, an association of youngsters celebrated the samithi’s third anniversary at Balasadan and brought together many guests. The children were given traditional food, including Ugadi pickle. They were all elated at the celebrations planned at the Balasadan opposite District Collectorate.
Gracing the function, District Legal Service Authority secretary G. Neelima and philanthropists Parcha Kodandarama Rao and Dr. Anjani Devi showered praises on the youth who conducted over 100 programmes during the last three years.
Mr. Kodandarama Rao promised to arrange for a private tutor for girl children to help them excel in studies.
Soon after the function, the children were taken to view Telugu film ‘Oopiri’ at a theatre. Samithi founder Santhosh Manduva said they have been taking part in numerous programmes. The samithi distributed benches and chairs to government schools, distributed clothes to inmates of various orphanages and old age homes, conducted free seminars in career for youth studying in different colleges.
Members of Sulakshya Seva Samithi Kaushik Bhupathi, Shashank Bharadwaj, Revanth Mandala, Chintu, Kodam Vinay, Sai Hruday, Sri Lakshmi, Raghu, Thirumal, Superintendent of Balasadan Bandi Sumitha Devi and others were present on the occasion.
