Awareness drive on malaria

An essay writing competition on “Malaria and other vector-borne diseases” was conducted for the students of the B.Ed. College in Bhadrachalam on Friday.

The contest was organised as part of a campaign to spread awareness on vector control strategies, sources said. The winners of the contest will be presented prizes at a function to be held on the occasion of World Malaria Day on the college premises on Saturday. The district malaria control wing will organise fever screening camps in malaria endemic areas in Bhadrachalam division.

Joint Collector D. Divya, who is also the Project Officer of the ITDA, Bhadrachalam, will flag off an awareness rally as part of a campaign on the theme “Invest in the future – defeat malaria” .

District Malaria Officer A. Rambabu and others will participate in the rally.
