Festive atmosphere prevailed at the Nehru Municipal High School grounds here, the venue for Telugu Desam Party’s Mahanadu, as several senior leaders joined the party activists to make suggestions for smooth conduct of the event.

On Saturday, a steady stream of senior leaders, including T.D. Janardhan, Gali Muddukrishnama Naidu, Payyavula Keshav, G. Srinivasulu, Chadalawada Krishnamurthy, Bandaru Satyanarayana, N. Sivaprasad, Bojjala Gopalakrishna Reddy, P.R. Mohan, Tallari Aditya, Galla Aruna Kumari, G. Kutuhallamma, and M. Suguna, arrived at the venue to take part in the ‘special pooja’ and reviewed the ongoing arrangements. Highlighting the party’s link to the temple city of Tirupati, leaders remarked that this year’s Mahanadu would be etched as a lifelong memory in the minds of the party members.

“This is the first time Mahanadu is being held at the foothills of Lord Venkateswara after the State bifurcation. It is a platform for party activists and leaders to exchange pleasantries and share their thoughts, besides focusing on how to take the party forward and serve the people better,” said Mr. Janardhan, senior leader and MLC.

The leaders, who inspected the arrangements and works at the venue, expressed satisfaction and urged various committee members to extend good hospitality to the party members from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The venue will have four entrances and the main arena will be 100 feet more than the previous ones.

“Though, rain delayed the works for two days, everything is back to normal and will be completed in the time stipulated.

Accommodation

Arrangements have also been made to set up accommodation for party members in college hostels and traffic diversions are being planned to see that common man will face no inconvenience,” they maintained.
