Advocates’ association seeks smooth division

The general body of the Andhra Pradesh High Court Advocates Association on Friday unanimously resolved to request the advocate generals of both the States of Telangana and AP to oversee the smooth bifurcation of High Court Advocates Association and till then supervise the functioning of the association.

The members of executive of the association, whose term had expired in March 2014 but continued to look after the affairs of the Association till Friday at the request of the general body, pleaded with the members to relieve them. The request was conceded by the general body and it was resolved that the next elections will be conducted for two associations.

The present association, which is registered under Societies Act, will be divided into two associations as per procedure prescribed under law. The general body requested K. Ramakrishna Reddy, advocate general for Telangana State and P. Venugopal, advocate general for AP, to look after these issues and implement these decisions through a committee if necessary.
