Adilabad Chief Conservator of Forest Sanjeev Kumar Gupta died of heart attack early on Tuesday. The 46-year-old 1993 batch Indian Forest Service Officer is survived by his wife and two daughters.

Gupta was given medicine for stomach ache at the RIMS hospital at midnight when he had complained of pain. He, however, took the medicine and returned to his official quarter. He collapsed in the bathroom early in the morning and was found by the domestic help at about 7 a.m. He was taken to the RIMS hospital where he was declared brought dead.

Adilabad Collector Buddha Prakash M. Jyoti and other officials expressed condolences at the sudden demise of the top forest official. His body was sent to his Hyderabad residence at Kundanbagh in an ambulance.

At Hyderabad, Forest Minister Jogu Ramanna, Sirpur MLA Koneu Konappa, Chief Secretary S.P. Singh and Principal Chief Conservator of Forest P.K. Jha were among those who condoled the bereaved family. Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao expressed his condolences too.
