Acute water shortage at Sree Swamy Ayyappa Colony

January 21, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 09:27 am IST

Repeated appeals for adequate drinking water supply to residents of Sree Swamy Ayyappa Colony are falling on deaf ears of the officials of Dammaiguda village of Keesara mandal. Every day water is supplied for two hours to the Old Village area adjacent to the panchayat office, but only once a week to our colony. Domestic bore-wells have dried up. The situation is such that the residents could not even bathe during the Sankranti holidays.

Another train to Kerala

Tickets on the Sabari Express (Train no. 17230/17229), the lone train operating from the city to Thiruvananthapuram, is mostly booked a month in advance, making it difficult for people to make reservations even through the tatkal quota. I request authorities to introduce one more train for people travelling to Kerala, or extend reservation on Sabari Express to only those travelling up to Palakkad, Ernakulam and beyond.

Use old airport for domestic travel

Many domestic air passengers are forced to spend double the journey time due to the pre check-in and baggage booking formalities at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad. The old airport at Begumpet -NTR Domestic Terminal- can be used for domestic air travel.
