Actor Akhil springs a surprise

Drives autorickshaw to raise funds for a kidney patient. Mr Akhil reportedly donated the money collected as part of the event to the family of the ailing boy.

Young actor Akhil Akkineni sprung a surprise by driving an autorickshaw in the heart of the town as part of a charity event reportedly organised by an NGO here on Tuesday.

Mr. Akhil drove an autorickshaw and raised money for a seven-year-old boy, a chronic kidney patient of a residential locality near Sthambadri Lakshminarasimha Swamy temple, here in the afternoon, sources said.

The young and dashing actor took the onlookers by surprise by driving the autorickshaw on the busy road surrounding the famous shrine even as scores of youngsters gathered on the main road to watch the event. Mr Akhil reportedly donated the money collected as part of the event to the family of the ailing boy.

Sources said that the representatives of the NGO, which reportedly organised the event, assured all possible assistance to the poor family of the kidney patient.
