700 students get jobs in placements

Some 700 students of School of Technology (SoT) and Hyderabad Business School (HBS) of Hyderabad campus of the GITAM University who got job offers through campus placement received their offer letters on Tuesday.

The University organised the Achievers’ Day to hand over the offers of appointments to selected students of Engineering and Management on Tuesday. Some 100 companies participated in the final placements, 15 % more than last year.

Nearly 90 % students of B.Tech, M.Tech and MBA were selected in the campus recruitment drives, which were organised by both IT and core companies.

Participating in the programme, vice president and head global HR operations of VirtusaPolaris Anirudha Dasu, said that there is a lack of skilled professionals in the industry and called on students to focus on their skill sets.

University vice chancellor M. S. Prasada Rao, pro vice chancellor N. Siva Prasad, dean and director Hyderabad Business School Y. Lakshman Kumar, principal Ch. Sanjay and others were present.
