Sardar Balwinder Singh was a bright and intelligent student from his school days and secured top marks in all examinations.

Balwinder Singh, who studied in Gouthami High School in Boyawada in Karimnagar, secured 98 per cent marks in SSC 2005 examinations. He scored 95 per cent marks in Intermediate from SR Junior College in Karimnagar, and 90 per cent marks in degree from Sri Chaitanya.

He secured sixth rank in ICET and joined NIT Warangal for pursuing MCA, and was selected by a reputed IT firm in Bengaluru during a campus placement drive. His relative, Jagjit Singh, said that since childhood, Balwinder was shy, and tense over examinations.

He was the only son of Avataar Singh and Sathvanth Kaur. His two elder sisters are married. Though his father Avataar Singh worked as van driver, he educated all his children.
