KARIMNAGAR: A petty criminal case pending with the Jammikunta police station since last 16 years was settled at the Lok Adalat special court in Huzurabad town of Karimnagar district on Thursday.
Jammikunta inspector P Prashanth Reddy said that a victim G Kumar of Korapalli village in the Jammikunta mandal registered case against the four persons K Gattaiah, L Bikshapathi, K Mallaiah and P Saraiah of the same village for attacking him and his mother over small petty issue. The police had registered criminal case number 129/2001 under IPC 324 section.
The police have remanded them on October 22, 2001 for three days and the police have filed a charge-sheet on November 28, 2001. But, the case was not settled since then due to various reasons. Following the initiatives taken by Commissioner of Police VB Kamalasan Reddy, the police have summoned them to the police and counseled them and settled the issue amicably.
After 16 long years, these villagers of the same village, who were seeing each other in anger for years, could settle the issue at the Lok Adalat court in Huzurabad by way of compounding. The police made them share pleasantries and hug each other and live happily in the village.
