A passport centre would be set up at the Hanamkonda post office soon.

Following representations from Warangal MP Pasunuri Dayakar, Nizamabad MP K. Kavitha, and members of various organisations, the Central government has agreed to set up a passport centre at the Warangal district headquarters.

Hyderabad Regional Passport Officer E. Vishnu Vardhan Reddy and Hyderabad Regional Post Master General M. Elisha had visited Warangal on February 16 and inspected the offices of the Postal Department at Raganna Darwaja and Nakkalagutta near Ambedkar crossroads for setting up a Post Office Passport Seva Kendra (POPSK).

Postal Department officials said they have decided to set up the POPSK at the head post office, and the services would be launched soon.

According to officials, the POPSK can accommodate about 100 appointments every day.
