KARIMNAGAR: Expressing displeasure over the lethargy on the part of official machinery in the discharge of their duties in the State, Karimnagar MP B. Vinod Kumar has urged Chief Secretary S.P. Singh to take measures to bring an attitudinal change among the employees for better administration.
“Right from Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao, ministers, MPs, MLAs, MLCs and other elected representatives are running from pillar to post to get projects sanctioned and funding for various developmental works. But, the official machinery is very adamant and causing hardships to the beneficiaries,” he complained.
He said that the official machinery should also work hard on par with the elected representatives to transform the Telangana state on all fronts. The employees, who had launched the movement for the formation of Telangana State, should also crusade for its development, he maintained. tthe MP suggested dairy units be given as alternate source of employment to the land oustees of various irrigation projects. in the Karimnagar district. Stating that they would take measures to provide subsidy to the land oustees of various irrigation projects to take up dairy units, he asked the Karimnagar Dairy to be guarantor and take measures to increase milk production.
Appreciating the Karimnagar Dairy for making strides in milk production and sales, he urged them to set a target of procuring five lakh litres of milk per day from the existing two lakh litres per day. He promised to try and get Centre’s sanction for an integrated cold chain project costing ₹42 crore.
Karimnagar Dairy chairman Ch Rajeshwara Rao explained about how the dairy made progress from procuring 1200 litres of milk per day to 2 lakh litres per day during the last one-and-a-half decade.
He also explained about the welfare programmes launched for the 70,000 milk producers of the dairy. ZP chairperson Tula Uma, TSIDC chairman Eda Shankar Reddy, MLA G Kamalakar, MLC Naradasu Laxman Rao, dairy advisor V Hanumantha Reddy and others were also present.
