BJP yatra in coal belt from today

February 19, 2017 11:41 pm | Updated 11:42 pm IST - K.M.Dayashankar

The BJP Telangana State unit is planning to reorganize and strengthen the party in the Singareni Collieries coal belt region with its party Assembly floor leader G Kishan Reddy launching the “Boggu Bayila Paryatana” (coal mines yatra) from February 20 to 23 in the newly-formed districts.

Mr. Kishan Reddy would be launching his padayatra from Kothagudem on Monday. He would be conducting his yatra on February 21 in Bhupalapalli, Ramagundam on February 22 and Mancherial and Asifabad on February 23, BJP State official spokesperson S. Kumar said.

The padayatra would expose the true colours of TRS government and how they had betrayed the coal miners after getting elected to power. The TRS government had made tall claims for the opening up of more underground mines and opposed the open cast projects. Now, it had changed its stand and going in for more OCPs and mechanization of the mines denying employment, he alleged.

Reminding that the BJP had been crusading against the OCPs and had campaigned for declaration of coal corridor and opening up of auxiliary coal based units to create employment in the region, he also demanded that the government should come out in clarity about the revival of depending employment scheme and abolition of contract employment system in the Singareni.

He also demanded that the government should provide employment to the land oustees of the Singareni mines. He also urged the government to fulfill its promise of opening a medical college in the coal belt region of Ramagundam and upgradation of Singareni Area hospital on the lines of NIMS super speciality. He also sought house sites to the coal miners on par with the revenue and other employees.
