Election to the Siddipet municipality was held peacefully on Wednesday, barring one or two minor incidents. The polling percentage increased from 16.52 per cent at 9 a.m. to 36.09 at 11 a.m., 52.48 per cent at 1 p.m., 60.89 per cent at 3 p.m., 71.38 per cent by the time of concluding of poll. It was reported that 53,325 voters cast vote.
One anganwadi teacher was removed from election duties as it was alleged that she was acting with partially. BJP leaders G. Premender Reddy and Y Lakshminaranaya alleged that party workers were caned by the police. At three or four places police resorted to minor canning to disburse representatives of political parties who were gathered.

Irrigation Minister and local legislator T Harish Rao expressed the confidence that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) would win the election hands down. “Turing of voters in large number to cast vote indicates their confidence in the government. We are sure to win with a large majority in the election,” said Mr. Harish Rao while speaking to reporters at Tornal in the evening after polling was over.
