The temple town of Basar in Adilabad district where the famous Gnana Saraswati temple is located will wear a considerably neater look once the 500 NSS volunteers from IIIT Basar finish cleaning it.
The volunteers began their five-day cleanliness drive from the temple premises itself on Friday.
“Our volunteers will clean the Godavari ghats, roads and other areas in this town in a phased manner in the next five days,” revealed NSS programme officer and convenor, IIIT Basar, B. Shravani.
“Our students have been volunteering for social service in this area and in the district since the inception of the institution,” Ms. Shravani added.
It may be recalled that the IIIT students had helped the Election Commission in the last elections.
According to Ms. Shravani, the students are already gearing up for volunteering their services in the coming Godavari Pushkaralu.
