Four Maoist militia members nabbed in Khammam

In a stepped up joint operation against Maoists, the Bhadrachalam sub-division police in association with the CRPF personnel nabbed four alleged CPI (Maoist) militia members and a dalam member in a forest area in Charla mandal of Khammam District in the early hours of Monday.

A joint team consisting of the personnel of the district police and the CRPF conducted a combing operation in the Chennapuram forests in the small hours of the day.

The team reportedly apprehended four alleged Maoist militia members and a member of the Maoist Lachanna squad after a chase in the forest area early on Monday morning, the police said.

According to the police sources, the arrested persons were allegedly involved in several cases of Maoist violence in the division. All of them hail from Charla mandal in Bhadrachalam division.
