35 die of sunstroke in districts

The severe heat wave conditions claimed 14 lives in various parts of Karimnagar district on Sunday. The details of those who died include are Chilakamma (60) of Saidabad village in Jammikunta mandal, Malla Goud (55), a toddy tapper in Venkaiahpalli village of Gangadhara mandal, Srinitha (16) in Jagtial town, Veeramma (55) in Laxmikkapet village of Veenavanka mandal, Rajaiah (65) in Mirzapur village of Kalwa

Srirampur mandal, Nampalli (65) in Kesavapur village of Husnabad mandal. Venkataiah (74) in Husnabad town, Kanakamma (60) in Venkaiahgudem of Shankarpatnam mandal, Manemma (50) and Sadanandam (60) in Kamalapur mandal, Komuraiah ((60) in gudur of Kamalapur mandal, Imam Patham (60) in Sriramulapalli in Kamalapur mandal, Singareni employee Odelu (59) in Godavarikhani and Taj Unnisa ((46)) in Peddapalli town.

Ten in Nalgonda

Nalgonda Staff Reporter adds: As many as 10 deaths have been reported in Nalgonda district due to sun stroke on Sunday. As the scorching sun continued to drive the mercury levels up from very early at 8 am, people prefered to remain indoors through out the day time. The main roads of Nalgonda town wore a deserted look.

Seven in Medak

Medak Staff Reporter adds: The heat wave condition continued in Medak district on Sunday with people mostly confining themselves to indoors. Three deaths were reported from Rudraram village and one from Gajwel and the deceased was identified as Nazia Begum (7). . The other three have been identified as Lakshmi of Kallakal, Satteaiah at Itikyal and Bhagayya at Engaurthi.

Three in Nizamabad

Nizamabad Special Correspondent adds: Heat wave claimed three lives in the district on Sunday. Balaiah, a former MPTC member of Amarlabanda in Sadasivanagar mandal died. He reportedly died due to dehydration and fever caused by sunstroke, according to information reaching here.

A nine-year student Sindhu of Domakonda mandal headquarters and an agriculture coolie in Velmal village in Nandipet mandal also died with similar symptoms, according to information reaching here. With this the number of persons who died due to sunstroke increased to ten in the district. Meanwhile, the day temperatures continue to be above 45 degree Celsius since Tuesday.

One in Adilabad

Adilabad Special Correspondent adds: At least one person died of sunstroke in Adilabad district on Sunday while an unconfirmed report from Bejjur mandal has another person succumbing to severe dehydration. Gaikwad Gangaram, an auto driver died at RIMS hospital in Adilabad after being admitted last night complaining of dehydration.

The deceased, belonging to Mannur in Gudihatnoor mandal, had returned after dropping a party in his auto at Chandrapur in Maharashtra the previous day. He was taken to hospital after he developed the symptoms of dehydration.

Meanwhile, the day temperature subsided a little as the maximum recorded was about 43 degree Celsius. There was however, hardly any respite for people at large owing to the hot breeze blowing from the North-west.
