34 swine flu deaths in Telangana in one month

From January 1 to February 1, 976 samples were tested, of which 668 samples were found to be positive.

Swine flu has claimed 34 lives in the past one month, even as 668 persons tested positive for the H1N1 virus so far this year in Telangana, the State government said on Tuesday.

From January 1, 2015 to February 1, 2015, 976 samples were tested, of which 668 samples were found to be positive. The number of deaths due to swine flu and other complications is 34, an official release said.

As many as 39 samples out of the total 122 tested on Monday were found to be positive, it said.

The government, however, claimed that the number of positive cases reported in the last six days till Monday is showing a declining trend.

“Enough stock of medicine is available at all teaching hospitals, district hospitals and area hospitals,” the statement said.
