30 women rescued from flesh trade

Victims included 10 minors

Crime Investigation Department (CID) officials, Medak police, and members of Care and Justice, an NGO based in Hyderabad, conducted raids at Japthishivanur in Ramayampet mandal and rescued 30 women, including 10 minors, who were forced into flesh trade. Fifteen persons were also arrested for the crime.

According to sources, after keeping a tab on Japthishivanur for more than two weeks and having specific information that minors were being forced into flesh trade, the police conducted the raids on Wednesday night.

Moved to Sangareddy

The victims and the accused were shifted to Sangareddy on Thursday. They had to go through medical examinations at the government hospital and were later presented before the court.

It was stated that the 15 accused were allegedly running the flesh trade and trying to force minors into it. A senior police official from Medak said the CID acted on a complaint that minors are being forced in the trade.

Till the time of going to press, sources said the minors would be shifted to a rescue home in Hyderabad.
