Three persons were killed and 20 others injured when a tractor trolley, they were travelling in, overturned at Jalimudi village in Madhira mandal on Monday afternoon.
The victims were on their way from Siripuram in Madhira mandal to Enkoor to attend an engagement function at their relatives' house, when the incident took place.
According to sources, the tractor-trolley, carrying 23 villagers, turned turtle after its driver lost control of the vehicle while trying to negotiate a sharp curve near Jalimudi village in the afternoon.
Two occupants of the vehicle died on the spot, another succumbed to injuries on the way to hospital. The remaining passengers of the vehicle including several women sustained multiple injuries in the mishap.
The seriously injured passengers were shifted to the district headquarters hospital for better medical care.
