District Collector Krishna Bhaskar called upon students to play a responsible role and educate people, including their parents, about the importance of digital financial transactions.
Speaking after inaugurating the Digi Dhan mela in Sircilla on Friday, the Collector said the future belongs to the digital world and people should get acquainted with the new system in the wake of demonetisation.
Joint Collector Yasmeen Basha said they had set a target of achieving cent per cent cashless transaction in all the 211 villages in the district. So far, 25 villages have gone cashless, she said and added that they created bank accounts for all the villagers in 46 villages. She also said they distributed PoS machines in 46 villages.
