Saying that Telangana State would be power surplus by 2018, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has said that continuous 12-hour power supply will be provided to the farm sector from morning to evening at a single stretch from 2017.
The Chief Minister was in the Raikal mandal headquarters to participate in the inauguration of Chinna Jeeyar Swami Trust building, laying foundation for the auditorium of the trust, and unveiling of statue of tribal leader Komaram Bheem -- along with Maharashtra Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao, Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Jual Oram, State Tribal Welfare Minister A Chandulal and others on Monday.
Addressing a mammoth gathering on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that Telangana would generate 23,000 MWs of power by 2018 and would become surplus power State. He said that the 1200 MWs of Singareni Thermal Power Station in Jaipur of Adilabad would start power generation from November this year and added that the Bhupalapalli Kakatiya Thermal Power Station would also generate additional power very soon. Besides, the NTPC Ramagundam would start work for the execution of 1600 MWs of power project as part of 4,000 MWs power project announced in the States Reorganisation Bill.
Stating that he knows the plight of beedi worker as he had studied in their houses in childhood days, he said that all the beedi workers would be provide honorarium of Rs 1,000 per month. The beedi workers, who had not secured honorarium, should approach the concerned Tahsildars and apply for the same and assured to provide them the honorarium. He also said that they would ensure every eligible person is provided with Asara pension scheme.
Reiterating that he would not seek votes in 2019 elections if he failed to provide tap connection to each and every household in the State, he called upon all sections of society and appealed to the political parties to keep aside politics and participate in the Telangana watergrid programme.
He also said that the ambitious Mission Kakatiya programme would solve the drought problem in the State.
Reiterating that he would announce Jagtial district very soon, he also announced the release of dues to the sugarcane farmers of the region.
Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Jual Oram announced constitution of ITDA for the benefit of tribals of the Raikal mandal and a bridge across the river Godavari connecting Jagannathpet village of Raikal mandal with Adilabad.
