12 killed in Karimnagar road accident

In a gory road accident, twelve persons including two children, who were on a pilgrimage to Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy devasthanam in Vemulawada, were killed when the autorickshaw in which they were travelling collided head-on with the speeding sand-laden lorry in Arepalli village on the outskirts of Vemulawada mandal on Monday evening.

The autorickshaw was crushed under the wheels of the lorry. Police and revenue authorities had to lift the lorry to retrieve the bodies from the mangled auto-rickshaw. Police had a tough time in the process.

According to police sources the victims, belonged to two families of Kashibugga in Warangal district and they were on a pilgrimage to Vemulawada temple shrine. Sircilla DSP D Narsaiah visited the spot and overseeing the retrieval operations.
