‘Do not dump waste into the Siddeswaragundam tank’

February 06, 2017 07:25 pm | Updated 07:26 pm IST - WARANGAL URBAN:

Police Commissioner G. Sudheer Babu visited Siddeswaragundam tank in Hanamkonda and inspected the ongoing development work.

Mr. Babu said the police adopted the tank as part of its social responsibility during the Mission Kakatiya programme. Work on the second phase of the project was under way. The tank would be developed into a tourist spot.

Inspector Sampath Rao accompanied the Commissioner.

Mr. Babu urged the people not to dump waste into the tank and help keep it clean. The police would beautify the bund and surrounding environs, which the people must preserve and protect. “We appeal to the people to supplement our efforts in turning the Siddeswaragundam tank into a major tourist attraction,” he said.

Meanwhile, the district administration and the municipal corporation, in association with the Kakatiya Urban Development Authority (KUDA), have started restoring the Padmakshi tank and temple. The KUDA has taken up beautification of the Bhadrakali tank abutting the Siddeswara temple. Once complete, it would become a sought after place during evenings.
