With Team Anna indicating that they may come out with a political alternative, the government on Thursday claimed that its stand on the movement by Anna Hazare and his team has been vindicated and it was glad that their intention has come out in the open.

“We have always said that these people seemed inspired by politics. It is good that whatever the intention was has come out clear. Many of the stances they took seem to suggest this. I am glad that they have gone ahead,” Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni told reporters in New Delhi.

Her reaction came after Mr. Hazare announced that he will give support for a political alternative in the country. “Now they will realise, how much work you have to do in politics and what are the difficulties and compulsions,” she said.

Ms. Soni also said that it was not correct for anyone to use defamatory language against Members of Parliament or anyone holding constitutional position.

The Minister said that it was everyone’s right to enter public life and Team Anna should go ahead and contest elections if they want to change the system.
