Tea vendor, ex-princess on guest list

The four proposers who signed Narendra Modi’s nomination papers for the Vadodara Lok Sabha constituency will attend his swearing-in on Monday, sources said.

A member of Vadodara’s erstwhile royal family, Shubhanginidevi Raje-Gaekwad, tea vendor Kiran Mahida, former Gujarat Minister Makrand Desai’s widow Neelaben Desai and founder-president of the city unit of the BJP Bhupendra Patel will attend the ceremony.

“After receiving an official communication from Delhi, at least 25 BJP workers from Vadodara city will attend the swearing-in,” Gujarat Finance and Energy Minister Saurabh Patel said, adding: “I, along with Chief Minister Anandiben Patel and other Ministers, will attend the oath-taking ceremony.”
