Youth arrested by Maharashtra police

The Maharashtra police arrested a youth on the charge of abducting a minor girl from Lattur district in Maharashtra here on Monday.

The arrested was identified as R. Saravana Kumar (25) of Thennampatti village in Vadamadurai union. The police said that the accused had gone to Lattur in Maharashtra for work and stayed in a rental building recently. He reportedly returned to his village with a minor girl from the State.

Acting on a complaint lodged by the girl’s parents against Saravana Kumar, Maharashtra police registered an abduction case and came to Vadamadurai to arrest the accused.

Wit the help of Vadamadurai police, they arrested him while he was waiting at Thenampatti bus stop this morning.

Later, they took him to Lattur to produce him before the court, police said.
