Ruling All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) on Wednesday nominated P. Saroja, wife of the deceased Member of Legislative Assembly C. Perumal, for the by-election to the Yercaud constituency to be held in December.
After the announcement, Ms. Saroja called on Chief Minister and AIADMK general secretary Jayalalithaa to seek her blessings.
Her husband, Perumal, who died in July this year, was elected thrice (1989, 1991 and 2011) from the Yercaud constituency.
Ms. Saroja will contest against Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam’s candidate V. Maran.
