Yechury may join DMK team to meet Kovind

CPI (M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury is likely join a DMK-led Opposition delegation to meet President Ram Nath Kovind and seek his intervention to ensure that Tamil Nadu Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao ordered an immediate floor test in the Assembly.

A delegation of the DMK, Congress and IUML had already met the Governor urging him to direct Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami to prove majority in the House. Leader of the Opposition M.K. Stalin told reporters that the President has given appointment to meet the members of the delegation comprising representatives of the DMK, Congress, Left parties and IUML, on August 31. However, the time for the meeting had not been fixed.
