School and college students, members of voluntary organisations and people from all walks of life formed a ‘world’s largest human Indian currency symbol’ in an attempt to enter the Guinness Book of World Records.

A total of 22,356 persons, clad in white dress and sporting a paper cap, formed the Indian currency symbol at the Periyar University play ground on Monday evening.

It was organised jointly by the Lions Club of Salem Cosmos and Ecstasy Foundation on the occasion of Republic Day celebrations.
