World Tamil conference dates announced

The ninth World Tamil Conference in Coimbatore will be held during January 21-24, 2010.

This was decided at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi at the Secretariat on Saturday.

It was also decided that the formation and composition of different committees for the Conference, venues of different seminars in Coimbatore and the route of the proposed procession to be taken out during the Conference would be deliberated upon exhaustively in the subsequent meetings.

Tamil scholars living abroad would be informed immediately regarding the meet. Among those who attended the Saturday’s meeting were K. Anbazhagan, Finance Minister, M.K. Stalin, Deputy Chief Minister, A. Raja, Union Minister for Communications, Veerapandi S. Arumugam, Pongalur N. Palanisamy and K. Ponmudi, Ministers, and K.S. Sripathi, Chief Secretary.
