Working of cooperative institutions reviewed

Cooperative institutions in the State provided crop loans of Rs. 1,905.82 crore till February 15.

The target for the current financial year was Rs. 2,000 crore. As of now, 7,83,988 beneficiaries were given the loans. There were 2,38,927 fresh loanees who had been given Rs. 571.51 crore.

Joint liability groups

Against the target of 10,000 joint liability groups, 11,759 groups had been formed and a sum of Rs. 145.26 crore was given to them towards crop loans, according to an official release.

Cooperation Minister Ko.Si. Mani reviewed the working of the institutions with Principal Secretary (Cooperation, Food and Civil Supplies) K. Shanmugam and other officials on Friday.
