Woman with swine flu symptoms in hospital

A middle-aged woman working as nurse in a leading private hospital in Chennai was admitted to Kanyakumari Government Medical College Hospital with symptoms of swine flue immediately on arrival at Nagercoil on Friday morning.

Based on a tip-off from Chennai, officials from the Department of Health waited at the Vadaseri bus stand here with ambulance to shift her to an isolated ward at the hospital. Samples were taken from the woman and sent to a laboratory in Chennai, sources in the hospital said.

Health officials also conducted a medical check-up for the passengers travelled with her in the bus. After collecting their addresses, the officials sent them home.
