A 23-year-old woman killed her two daughters by throwing them into a well, and jumped behind in Marandahalli on Thursday. The woman, however, survived with injuries.

According to the police, Nagarathinam’s husband Anbarasan (31), a private bus conductor, was allegedly involved in an extra-marital affair, and had recently married the woman.

On Thursday, Nagarathinam and Anbarasan had an argument over the issue. A distraught Nagarathinam took her two daughters Nishanti (3) and Anusha (2) to the nearby farm well and threw them into it and jumped in. However, Anusha and Nishanti drowned while Nagarathinam was rescued and admitted to Dharmapuri government medical college hospital. The Marandahalli police registered a case and secured Anbarasan.
