Woman hurt in chain snatching

She fell from the bike when a man on a motorcycle pulled the chain

A 42-year-old woman sustained a minor head injury after she fell from a two-wheeler she was riding with her husband when her chain was snatched by an unidentified man on Sunday evening.

According to police attached to Sathuvachari station, Hasumala, a resident of V.O.C. Nagar in Sathuvachari was returning with her husband Kumar, 50, from the Ratnagiri temple.

They were on the National Highway 48. When they were nearing Perumugai, two motorcyle-borne men tailed them. One of them snatched her four sovereign ‘thali” chain. In the impact, she fell from the two-wheeler while the men sped away. She was treated at the Government Vellore Medical College Hospital.
