A 23-year old house surgeon from a private medical college hospital in Puducherry was admitted to hospital with swine flu on Friday evening.

Sources in the Kanyakumari Government Medical College Hospital (KGMCH) told The Hindu that a woman tested positive to swine flu at a Puducherry hospital. She moved to her native place, Punnakkavilai in Kanyakumuri district.

On receiving information, officials from the Deputy Director of Health and Family Medicine brought her to the KGMCH from her house. They administered vaccine to her family members.
