July 22, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 06:03 am IST - TIRUPUR:

One of the witnesses in Dalit youth Shankar murder case was allegedly threatened by one of the accused while he was coming out of the court complex on Thursday.

Suresh, the witness who received the threat, complained to Principal District and Sessions Judge Alamelu Natarajan who, in turn, forwarded the complaint to Tirupur North police.

Suresh was among the nine who were examined by Special Public Prosecutor U. Sankaranarayanan.

He got the threat while walking past 11 accused in the case, standing with police escort. Meanwhile, the cross examination of witnesses by the defence lawyers in the Dalit youth Shankar murder case was getting delayed because of the lawyers’ boycott of the court proceedings in the district. Principal District and Sessions Judge Alamelu Natarajan posted the case for July 26.
