Chief Minister Jayalalithaa on Tuesday told the Assembly that the uniform syllabus in schools would come into effect immediately.
Responding to CPI (M) member P. Dillibabu, the Chief Minister said Supreme Court had dismissed the appeal of the State government while directing it to implement the Madras High Court order in ten days.
The High Court by on July 18 had directed the government to forthwith distribute the textbooks printed under the Uniform System of School Education. “It will be implemented immediately,” she said.
