Two wild elephants that fell in two separate ponds inside the Anchetti Reserve Forests on Wednesday were rescued by the Forest Department officials. A release from Conservator of Forest (in charge) Dharmapuri Circle A.K. Ulaganathan on Thursday said that a ten-year-old wild elephant fell into a 30 feet deep percolation pond near Thottahalla River. Another aged about 10 fell in to a 30 feet deep percolation pond at Pattalmaduvu, near Thottahalla River.

After a seven-hour effort, both the elephants were rescued using cranes.
