Welfare assistance distributed

The Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) Minister Sevur S. Ramachandran distributed welfare assistances at a mass contact programme in Athimalaipattu village in Arani taluk on Wednesday.

V. Jothi, Special Deputy Collector (Social Security Schemes), conducted the programme in which 116 petitions were received. Of them, 46 were accepted on the spot, 44 were rejected and the rest posted for further enquiry. The Minister distributed welfare assistance worth Rs. 3.55 lakh including house site patta, patta transfer and sub division orders, ration cards, coconut saplings, mineral salts for livestock and fodder seeds to 90 people. —staff reporter
