Water to be released from Morethana reservoir today

Water would be released from the Morethana reservoir in Gudiyatham taluk through the Goundanya River for three days from Saturday to solve the drinking water scarcity in 14 villages.

According to a release from the Collector, 165 cusecs of water would be released from 8 a.m. on February 28 to 8 a.m. on March 3.

Groundwater level

This is expected to increase the groundwater level in 180 deep borewells and 1702 farm wells in the villages of Morethana, Kottara Madugu, Jiddapalli, Sempalli, Upparapalli, Jangalapalli, Renukapuram, Rangasamudram, Meenur, Thattapparai, Andikanpatti, Agravaram, Moongapattu and Perumbadi.
