Water level rises in Mullaperiy​ar

Owing to the north-east rains in the catchment areas of Mullaperiyar dam, the water level has considerably increased and the Tamil Nadu Public Works Department opened the Vaigai dam where the water released from the Mullaperiyar dam is being stored. The water level in the Mullaperiyar dam on Thursday was 133.3 against its total capacity of 136 ft.

The water level in the Idukki dam on the downstream of Mullaperiyar dam on Thursday was 2, 387.5 ft against 2,389.2 ft on the same day last year.
