Voters list goes online

All members of a family brought under single door number

For the first time, the State Election Commission has put online the voters list and photographs for the ensuing local body elections.

According to a release from State Election Commissioner S. Ayyar, 4.64 crore persons will exercise their franchise in the elections on October 17 and 19. The new list is based on electoral rolls used in the Assembly elections. The special feature of the new list, which will have details such as ward number, name of the street and the door number, is that all members of a family have been brought under a single door number.

Details can be viewed at www.tnsec.tn.nic.in.Voter's identification card number can be used to access particulars.
