Voters’ Day today

The sixth National Voters’ Day will be observed in all the taluks and district headquarters on Sunday. A rally to create awareness of voting, voter’s enrolment will begin from Collectorate on Sunday morning. Collector Sajjansingh R. Chavan will flag off the rally.

A release from the district administration said that the National Voters’ Day function will be held at the S.T. Hindu College, where the new voters’ will be given multi-colour Electoral Photo Identification Card (EPIC).

Tirunelveli

The National Voters’ Day events were organised here on Friday. Collector M. Karunakaran administered pledge to the Collectorate staff. He said every eligible voter, who completed the age of 18, should be enrolled in the voter list and encouraged to cast his vote in elections.

Project Director, District Rural Development Agency, H. Vijayakumar flagged off an awareness rally at MDT Hindu College Higher Secondary School in Tirunelveli Junction in the presence of RDO Fermi Vidhya, in which over 500 students participated.
