VIT begins sale of forms for entrance test

Exam between April 4 and 15 next year

Sale of applications for VIT Engineering Entrance Examinations – VITEEE 2018 – for the university’s campuses at Vellore, Chennai, Andhra Pradesh and Bhopal – began on Thursday.

According to a press release, the university’s chancellor G. Viswanathan launched the sale of application forms at the Head Post Office, Vellore.

The online entrance examinations will be held between April 4 and 15, 2018 at 124 locations in India and also in Dubai, Kuwait, Qatar and Muscat.

The forms would be available at 30 Head Post Offices across the country. Students can pay ₹1,200 as cost for the application form or submit a demand draft drawn in favour of VIT for the amount. Those who wish to apply online can visit www.vit.ac.in. The last date for applying is February 28, 2018.

On VIT’s Vellore campus, the courses offered include B.Tech in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Communication engineering, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Chemical Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science Engineering, Electronics Communication with Bio Medical Engineering, Mechanical engineering with specialisation in Automotive Engineering and Production and Industrial Engineering.

The university’s campus at Chennai offered courses including Civil, Mechanical, Computer Science Engineering (CSE), Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Computer Engineering while the Amaravathi campus in Andhra Pradesh offered B.Tech in CSE, Electronics and Communication, Mechanical, Computer Science with Networking and Security, Computer Science with specialisation in Date Analytics, Electronics and Communication with embedded systems, Electronics and Communication with VLSI.

On the Bhopal campus, the courses offered included B.Tech in Bio Engineering, CSE, Mechanical engineering and Computer Science with Gaming Technology, the release said.

VIT’s vice-presidents Sankar Viswanathan, G.V. Selvam, vice-chancellor Anand A. Samuel, director of undergraduate admissions K. Manivannan, and superintendent of post offices Vellore K. Vijaya were present.
